English Concertina 2.0 refers to an English concertina, stripped of the
traditional “user interface” = the thumb strap and the rest for the fourth finger.
Instead it uses an “Anglo-like” hand strap (not to be confused with the wrist
strap used on certain English concertinas to support playing while standing up).
Also, the buttons’ vertical and horizontal spacing is larger than normal, and a
number of bs and #s are removed.
Finally, but importantly, the buttons travel all the way down to the end plate.
This makes repeated notes with two fingers extremely easy, and allows extra
“bite” on the attack.
Altogether, the design greatly facilitates the playing of Irish music.
