Mastering the Basics of Surgical Technique

There are many YouTube videos introducing learners to the basics of surgical technique, such as suturing and knot tying. However, I found it incredibly difficult to translate what I learned from these videos into the operative room.

It is because these basic techniques are not easy; they are called basic because they are essential and fundamental to surgery. In fact, these techniques require a tremendous amount of deliberate practice to advance from novice to expert.

I have created this YouTube channel to build upon the basics of the basics taught in these introductory YouTube videos. My videos will demonstrate a compilation of technical tricks and tips that my fellow learners and I have learned during our time in the operating room. My hope is that learners can use these videos to help guide independent, deliberate practice at home, and that this practice will improve their clinical performance.
