Daniil Protsyuk was born in 1973 in Leningrad. He began to study music at the Glinka Choral School of the St Petersburg State Academic Cappella. In 1996 he graduated from the piano faculty of the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire, in 1999 he completed a trainee assistantship under the artistic direction of Nina Oksetian and in 2000 he completed a postgraduate study at the conservatoire under Ivan Fedoseyev. From 1994 – 1995 he trained at the Kirchliche Musikhochschule in Halle under Johannes Schäfer, Volker Bräutigam and Klaus Eichhorn. From 1999 – 2000 he trained at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg under Pieter van Dijk.
