The Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) is a global, community-led conservation organization founded in 1977 to advance the vision and work of Dr. Jane Goodall.
Our programs are rooted in Jane’s story and her belief that every individual can make a difference:
🔍 Continued research into wild animal behavior — especially chimpanzees — at Gombe Stream Research Center in Tanzania.
🌿 Community-led conservation using our Tacare approach to partner with communities on solutions that benefit people, animals, and the environment.
🫶 Best-in-class wildlife rehabilitation at the Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Center in the Republic of the Congo.
🌱 Youth empowerment through Roots& Shoots, inspiring young people to create positive change through service learning projects.
