Haryana Vidhan Sabha
Haryana Vidhan Sabha
Haryana Vidhan Sabha Secretariat is one of the most iconic buildings in Chandigarh, symbolizing democracy and governance. Sharing its premises with Punjab Vidhan Sabha, this architectural marvel was designed by the renowned French architect Le Corbusier.
Haryana became a separate state on November 1, 1966, following its bifurcation from Punjab. The building, a masterpiece of modern architecture, reflects the vision of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Partap Singh Kairon for Chandigarh as a well-planned city.
The Haryana Vidhan Sabha building is an engineering wonder with a distinctive hyperbolic shell structure and a pyramid-shaped Chamber. Its central tower, 120 feet high, provides a grand visual appeal.
The structure includes 16 administrative branches, offices for the Speaker, Chief Minister, Deputy Speaker, and Secretary, as well as committee rooms, a library, and a lounge for members.
