Mangrove Action Project
Since 1992, the Mangrove Action Project (MAP) has worked to educate the public about mangrove forests, to promote and engage in mangrove conservation and restoration. Our mission is to provide mangrove restoration and conservation education, training, and consulting that promotes community- based, sustainable management of coastal resources.
MAP is dedicated to reversing the degradation and loss of mangrove forests. These critical coastal ecosystems linking land and sea, play a vital role in helping to keep our planet and people healthy. Although now regarded as one of the most important ecosystems, mangrove forests are among the most threatened habitats in the world, and mangrove loss is rampant across the globe.
By demonstrating the importance of mangrove forests through our programs, we are striving for a protected and restored coastline managed sustainably by local communities.
We hope you enjoy our various mangrove videos on the MAP Youtube Channel :)
