WHAT ARE THEY ACTUALLY SAYING?

Villains speaking English to each other with heavy accents instead of their mother tongue, American actors faking language skills, gibberish on spy passports, typos in road or door signs... ugly Hollywood tropes, and we're going to expose them all. But we'll also mention the good parts, for sure.

In this series, we take a look at movie and TV scenes involving foreign – that is to say non-English – languages. We will analyze their general correctness, attention to detail, and cultural awareness, among other things. In other words: HOW REAL IS IT?

Hi! My name is Sebastian, I've been a language professional since 2006, mostly in the Entertainment industry. I've probably translated some of your favorite video game cinematics, too. Now, follow me, as we analyze how much effort Hollywood puts into their "foreign" scenes.

In the beginning, there will be a focus on German, but as the channel grows, we'll expand that. Promise.
