Abbie Gardner

Abbie Gardner is a fiery dobro player, singer and songwriter with an infectious smile. Her latest recording DobroSinger hit #11 on the Billboard Blues Charts in 2022. In it she blazes new ground with dobro and voice unaccompanied, real and raw, straight from her home studio. She was the first Dobro player to be a Kerrville New Folk Finalist (2025) and was nominated for 2025 "Artist of the Year" by the International Folk Music Awards. Winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest (folk) and the American Songwriter Magazine lyric contest, she's co-written with David Olney, Chris Stapleton, Ellis Paul, and Will Kimbrough. Abbie relocated to Nashville, TN in 2024.

Woodshed Lessons started in 2020 as a way to connect with and encourage new dobro players. Abbie films these free dobro lessons in her backyard in Jersey City, NJ and offers free tab via email. The point is to have fun with the instrument and learn just a little each time, tapping into the joy of such a fun versatile sound.
