An active concert saxophonist in the New York Metropolitan and Hudson Valley Region, Lois Hicks-Wozniak performed her debut recital in Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall as winner of Artists International. She served in the U.S. Army as a member of the West Point Band. Dedicated to commissioning and performing new music and as an experienced guest soloist with numerous ensembles and festivals, she is described as having “tremendous technique and fidelity to tone without sacrificing musical line,” and a “beautiful soprano saxophone sound...preserving the beauty and consistency of her sound regardless of the technical or musical demands of the moment” (Saxophone Symposium). With over 25 years of teaching experience, she is on the faculty at Marist College and SUNY New Paltz. Her private students have performed successfully at solo festivals and have enjoyed acceptance at major music schools and universities.
