I was a former Army ROTC cadet on track to commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Infantry, but just a few months before commissioning, I was told I couldn’t accept my commission due to severe medical conditions. Instead, I graduated with a Major in Political Science and a Minor in Military History & Military Leadership. I now work in politics, advocating for better veteran healthcare access.
