Will-r, the band, is the brainchild of Will, guitarist and founding member of two of Boston's most acclaimed, innovative bands: Count Zero (featured on Rock Band and Guitar Hero games) and Think Tree. It combines his love of both acoustic traditional music (like early to mid-century blues, traditional country and folk songs) with electronic/distorted keyboard/guitar textures and samples (partially influenced by modern classical music and experimental composers) — mix this with a love of creative wordplay and the result is a stew of songs that feel both familiar and utterly new at the same time, they are also multi-layered—providing sonic details that reward repeated listening.
