Corby Cine Club
Corby Cine Club was formed sometime in the 1950s, but the films in this collection are from the 1960s.
Edwin Streather was the last remaining member of the Cine Club, who sadly passed away this year. I asked the family if I could digitise their films and they kindly agreed and also gave me permission to share them on YouTube.
Most of the films are silent but some had music or narration added
.
Films of the development of Corby, the Queens visit, the Pole Fair in 1962 and an Arts Festival in 1968 are a real look back in time.
The smaller films were made for the members own enjoyment and to enter into competitions. They are still interesting as you see the cars, fashion and house furnishings of the time, and to try and guess the filming locations they used all around the Corby area.
