Brewster's Garage
For years I've wanted to build a custom vintage hotrod truck. But I expected to start with something that was already a truck! Then, a friend offered to give me his grandfather's Studebaker, and it was an opportunity that I could not pass up.
Follow me as I attempt to convert my 1939 Studebaker Champion 4-door sedan into a custom hotrod truck. There will be plenty of missteps and mistakes along the way but, with some thought, patience and some luck, in the end I hope to have the hotrod truck that I have dreamed of...and NOT a pile of scrap metal!
I have always been an hobbyist builder and tinkerer, but I have never built a custom car before! I live in a suburban home with a driveway and a one and half car garage. I have to be selective about the tools I have because I do not have the space to house or use them. So this is going to be a big challenge for me and, honestly, I am not sure what the end result will be. But, as I like to say, you only fail when you don't try!
