Crowborough & District Our Local History
Do you love to look at old photos of our town, its buildings and streets and the surrounding countryside?
But not sure where some of the postcards and photos of buildings are or indeed were!
From a Barron hill covered in forest and heathland, to a rapidly growing holiday destination full of luxury hotels encouraging a fast-growing population, from a village to Town!
The steam railway made this area a lucrative supplier of fruit, vegetables, beautiful flowers, particularly Orchids, grown locally destined to the finest homes in the world even baking flour from the Mills for the a Queens cake!
What famous or even infamous people lived near by?
If only the buildings could talk?
With your help we can preserve not only the views of the past & present, but also your voices and story's, preserving facts and yarns…preserving local history for future generations!
Do you you have a story to tell?
Photos or post cards to share?
Lets add to 'Street video' to update with your new information.
