Sustainable Hydroponic and Soilless Strawberry Production Systems
This National Strawberry Sustainability Initiative (NSSI) project was established to teach strawberry growers how to build, maintain, and use various hydroponic and soilless production systems. Hydroponic and soilless systems offer growers opportunities to grow strawberries in more sustainable ways as well as growing strawberries year-round.
This project is funded by a grant from the Walmart Foundation and administered by the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture Center for Agricultural and Rural Sustainability. It was also supported by the Horticulture Department at the University of Arkansas as well as the Plant Science Department and the Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) Center at the University of Arizona.
