LEYTE DANCE THEATER PROFILE
After 20 years of artistic pursuit, the Leyte Dance Theater (LDT) can rightfully claim as one of the top dance companies in the Philippines today. The acclaim and recognition, accrued through the years of performances in major cultural centers in the country and abroad, and even in the remotest town or barrio, are testimonies to the excellence it pursue in the field of dance.
Aside from representing the Philippines as Ambassador of Goodwill/Culture, it won the Grand Championship Award in Malaysia, 2009, during the International Folklore Festival Competition and garnered also the Best in Choreography, Best in Music and Best Male Dancer awards.
The Leyte Dance Theater is composed of dancers coming from different places of Region 8 who are either living and studying in Tacloban City.
