TheLoombaFoundation
The Loomba Foundation is a charity that helps widows. The plight of widows is not very well publicised as over 100 million live in poverty and many of them have to deal with torture, abuse, social exclusion, rape as well as other forms of discrimination.
The Loomba Foundation's aims are to eradicate the plight of widows by lobbying governments and setting up programs to help them gain employment and educate their children. The Loomba Foundation was responsible for lobbying the United Nations (UN) so that every year on 23rd June, International Widows Day is a UN observance Day.
