普通の高校の教員が、ゆる～く、これまで合格するテクニックとして教えてきた受験英語を、ありふれた日常の出来事にからめて考えていくサイトです。shiny side up cafe と名付けたのも、英語の学習が…「学校」とか「塾」とか「予備校」で覚え、「良い大学」に入り、「就職」のためだけのものとなってしまうのが嫌で、気分転換に立ち寄るカフェでありたいというところから名付けました。
ちなみに、shiny side up とは、バイカーワールドフレーズで「安全運転を♪」という意味です。受験では決して出題されることないフレーズですが、アメリカツーリング中、荒野のガソリンスタンドで、この言葉に出会った時の空気感が忘れられません。
すでに youtube の世界には、すぐれた英語教材動画が溢れているので、こちらでは、これからの英語教育で、どんなことができるのか実験してみたいと思っています。
