Sana Bob

Salif Sana, aka Sana Bob, arrived on the music scene in 1997. Today he has five albums to his credit as well as numerous compilations. His last opus, Notre Temps, came out in September 2014 and ranges between political reggae and intimate nights spent in the peaceful Sahel. It was his third album though, Dernière Chance, with the very popular single Mon Pays, which gave him the major breakthrough needed to extend himself as a successful artist.

His distinctive music is a colourful fusion of reggae with strong notes of sahelian blues , modern beats and traditional wed bindé , bissa or yarma, ancestral dance and music from the Mossi territory (major ethnic group in Burkina Faso).

He is often referred to as the Public Out-crier (Crieur Public in French) or the Voice of the Voiceless, trying to awaken a certain consciousness through his songs.
