The Blind Cyclist
Diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa and Dominant Optic Atrophy, I am a visually impaired cyclist and business owner.
Driving a vehicle is not an option for me, bikes are the way that I explore this World.
Initially my travels began as vacations. Over time these vacations became a means to "challenge" myself, a way to get out of my comfort zone and test what I, as a legally blind individual, am capable of accomplishing on my own. While my vision progressively worsens, I keep pushing (and pedaling) through uncomfortable and difficult situations just to prove to myself that I can do this.
Somewhere along the way this adventure spawned into riding my bike in every State, but why stop there?
I am now trying my best to take as many opportunities as I can to document this journey with video so that you can follow along. Maybe I can inspire other individuals, whether they are visually impaired or not.
