Blue Milk
Glasgow-based Blue Milk are a one-of-a-kind roots group harking back to traditional turn-of-the-century Delta Blues and 60’s - 70’s electric Blues Rock.
Taking its name from the classic Captain Beefheart album Safe As Milk, Blue Milk are heavily influenced by the slide guitar style of Ry Cooder and inspired by Blues legends such as Muddy Waters, Junior Kimborough and Lightnin Hopkins just to name a few.
The band deliver a brand of Blues which is entirely their own. The dynamic 4-piece boasts dirty, electric slide guitar and rousing melodies from Jonny Mac (guitar, vocals) the wailing howl of Leo S. Glaister’s harmonica, powerfully resonant undertones from Ike Malinki (bass guitar, backing vocals) and infectious grooves from Taylor Whyte (drums, backing vocals).
Currently recording their second single, playing originals and old delta Blues covers in venues across Scotland- delivering deeply compelling Blues, charged with intense sincerity and relentless energy.
