Dutton Institute
Located at Penn State University, the Dutton Institute embodies the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences' commitment to fulfill the potential of online and blended learning to enrich, and to expand access to, our educational programs. Founded by Dean John A. Dutton in 2000, Penn State rededicated the Institute in John's name after his retirement in 2003. The College's five academic departments now offer over 70 online and blended classes that attract over 3,000 undergraduates and 600 adult professionals annually. Every department now offers, or plans to offer, one or more online professional certificate and graduate degree programs to continuing adult professionals across the country and around the world.
