The Chinese proficiency test (HSK) is an international standardized test that focuses on the ability of non-first-language candidates to communicate in Chinese in life, study and work. The test levels include HSK (level 1—level 6) and HSKK (elementary，intermediate，advanced).
HSK is recognized by the Chinese ministry of education as a prerequisite for studying in China and applying for scholarships, and is increasingly used by government departments and multinational companies in more and more countries as an important basis for staff recruitment, salary increase and promotion.
