Moer&Gone
I started this channel in 2020 when I lived in Stockholm, Sweden. I felt "moer 'n gone" * far away from my hometown in South Africa and wanted to share my experiences with family and friends back home. Now I'm back in South Africa and its my Swedish friends' turn to get a glimpse of our beautiful country.
* "Moer 'n gone" is a "South Africanism" meaning something that is very far away, usually in the middle of nowhere. Although Stockholm is not quite the middle of nowhere, it fitted the description from my perspective, considering how far away from home I was (10 000km), in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the marked contrast between South Africa and Sweden. Also, "friluftsliv", or being outdoors, is ingrained in Swedish culture. We therefore share a desire to escape to wild, faraway, and secluded places.
