Brenda K. Starr
At 14, Brenda K. Starr met Harry Belafonte during an audition for the musical Beat Street, leading to a recording deal with producer Arthur Baker on Mirage Records. In the late '80s, she rose to fame with hits like the Grammy-nominated #1 ballad "I Still Believe," later re-recorded by her former backup singer, Mariah Carey. Brenda’s Spanish influence emerged with her Gold- and Platinum-certified album Te Sigo Esperando, followed by No Lo Voy A Olvidar, Pétalos de Fuego, and the critically acclaimed Temptation, which won two Latin Billboard Awards in 2002. Embracing her Salsa roots, Brenda became a star on Sony Music, collaborating with icons like Victor Manuelle and Tito Nieves, solidifying her legacy in Latin music.
