Rory McBride

American singer and poet Rory McBride creates Hypnosonic Rock—a psychedelic folk sound infused with blues and spiritual undertones.

McBride stamps his multidisciplinary work with authenticity and visceral simplicity. Bridging his love of philosophical poetry and mythical compositions naturally drummed up the spirit of the 1960s, which remained an aesthetic touchstone for McBride as he approached the recording and visual language surrounding his releases.

His EP, Sonic Lullaby, is a set of three songs that relate to tracks in the McBride catalog like theatrical trailers—lyrically adorned compositions swimming in ambiance, traversing a variety of moods, yet unified by a strong artistic thread. His greatest lyrical and compositional influences—John Lennon, Bob Dylan, and Jim Morrison—resonate throughout his work, shaping both its poetic depth and sonic atmosphere.

McBride’s 2024 track, No!, channels a war-fueled urgency, while his next EP, Art School, is currently in development.
