The BHU - organic, agroecological, regenerative and sustainable horticulture education and research in Aotearoa New Zealand.
The BHU is the home of organics in Aotearoa based in Lincoln, Canterbury and is a registered charity. Our 10 ha / 25 acre organic farm was founded in 1976 by Bob Crowder, a lecturer at Lincoln University and a student Tim Maples and has been managed organically ever since. We teach a certificate (Levels 3 and 4) in organic horticulture and undertake a wide range of research and extension under our research arm the BHU Future Farming Centre.
