Chat18

Building & Sailing the Chat 18 - a daysailing mini-catamaran with a small cuddy (which provides a sleeping area, protection from the elements, etc). The mast is mounted at the front edge of the cockpit, so there is no need to leave the security of the cockpit for mainsail handling. The boat is easily trailered, and it is not necessary to dismantle the hulls and beams to do so.

Construction is all done using the well-proven (and fast) "stitch 'n glue" methods. Materials are marine ply, epoxy, and glass tape for the seams. Designed by Richard Woods:
