Steve Childers - The Retirement Railroad

The Retirement railroad is my page to share my renewed 60 yrs plus love for model trains. I model the CB&Q in HO in the western suburbs of Chicago where I grew up. My wife and I retired to the Tampa Bay area of Florida in the USA for seven years and it was there that I built the original "Retirement Railroad". We have moved to Oklahoma City where we had lived for 10 years in the 90s so as to be closer to family. I have built the "Retirement Railroad 2.0," a 16" x 12' switching layout in preperation for a much larger shed layout yet to come. My videos tend to be more about "how NOT to...and ways to fix it".

By the way. I do not do "Prototypical". Instead, I do "Proto representative". What's the difference? Proto representative is NOT attempting to match reality. Instead, it attempts to give the viewer a simplified sense of, or feel for, the area(s) depicted.
