Peruvian Sailing & ocean society (PSOS) promotes ocean identity in the Pacific Ocean thru a connection of Peru and the Pacific.
History and ocean identity is so important in west coast southamerica..as also it is to help raise awareness in Ocean Conservation. "We cannot protect what we don't understand". Peruvian Sailors and Ocean people had something to survive using not only sailing rafts to sail all the coast but they did have a deep knowledge for what the changes in "El Niño" brought to their lives. ie: with an ancient shell called Spondylus/Mullu they used the change in color in order to predict climate disturbances. Meaning this and other ancient ways of living have been lost today; as well as traditional practices along the Peruvian northern coast. Today there are recent studies released in a book and documentary to show the world. History and conservation: "Connecting lines"
