Mission Basilica Music Ministry
Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano is the birthplace of Orange County and is a privileged place in which a person, as a pilgrim here on earth, experiences the loving and saving presence of God. Mission Basilica is a refuge, a place to shed daily distractions and attain spiritual nourishment on our journey of faith.
Central to the sacramental life of the Basilica is the Celebration of the Eucharist and music is an integral component of this communal form of prayer.
Sacred Music at Mission Basilica strives to transform hearts and minds through the power and beauty of music as part and purpose of the Roman Catholic Liturgy. It is guided by the belief that inspired liturgy leads to a transformation, both deepening and awakening one’s faith.
The music makers of the Basilica strive to be agents of such transformation by creating music that is artistic, genuine, authentic, purposeful, and evangelizing shepherding one to a profound experience of prayer.
