Hello, I'm Ms. Barnes, and I teach Response to Intervention (RTI) for K-4th grade students who need individualized instruction in math and reading. Reading is my ultimate favorite school subject. I have a Bachelor's degree in English and Creative Writing. I have a Master degree in Teaching Instruction and Curriculum Leadership specializing in Special Education. I am ultimately concerned with teaching skills deficits so all students can access instruction similarly and be successful in life. I have trained with the Memphis location of Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes. So, I have experience in Seeing Stars, Visualize & Verbalize, and Cloud Nine (on my own time). I focus on blending sounds, retaining sight words (which all words eventually become anyway), sequencing, and many multi-sensory approaches to learning reading. My most recent reading training has been with the Institute of Multi-Sensory Education IMSE based on Orton-Gillingham methodology, which is at the forefront of Dyslexia
