Conversation with a chef is dedicated to capturing the voices and stories of chefs across Melbourne and beyond. Each episode is a relaxed, unscripted conversation where food is just the beginning. We talk about inspiration, technique, grit, joy, and the human stories behind the pass. It’s a celebration of hospitality in all its flavours, driven by curiosity and a genuine love of the craft.
I'm Jo Rittey, a Melbourne-based food writer and podcast host with a background in languages and a long-standing love of French culture. I'm interested in people and how their stories unfold. I like to think my interviews are relaxed, thoughtful conversations that give chefs and food makers space to reflect, share and sometimes surprise themselves.
When I'm not teaching French or recording a podcast, I'll probably be tracking down a good cheese or planning my next trip to France.
