The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) founded 15 “Green Innovation Centres” for the Agriculture and Food Sector – in 13 African and 2 Asian countries. The Centres contribute towards the modernisation of the agriculture and food sector by spreading agricultural innovations which lead to higher yields and income as well as new employment opportunities. These centres are at the heart of the special initiative “Transformation of Agricultural and Food Systems”.
