Air Rescue Australia

Air Rescue is an observational documentary series following the high-stakes work of the rescue crews of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. The pilots, aircrews and intensive care paramedics are our narrators - and through them we’re drawn into the lives of Australians in crisis.

The show is actually filming two completely seperate rescue helicopter services both operating under naming writes sponsor 'Westpac'. The largest and most featured service in the show is Northern NSW Helicopter Rescue Service (Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service), filmed exclusively in Northern NSW from the Hawkesbury River up to the Queensland Border. At the time of filming, Northern NSW Helicopter Rescue Service operated two Bell 412 aircraft.

The other service featured in Air Rescue is Westpac Life Saver Helicopter, operating out of Moruya, La-Perouse, Sydney, Gold Coast, Hobart Tasmania, and at the time (Before a change of contract) Lismore, NSW.
