Lone and Level Sands Adventures

Welcome to Lone and Level Sands Adventures!

Here you will find a trove of content recorded during the course of one young man’s aimless wanderings through this beautiful world.

It has been my privilege to gaze upon many of Mother Nature’s blindingly beautiful landscapes. President Teddy Roosevelt once said: “The farther one gets into the wilderness, the greater is the attraction of its lonely freedom”. Wiser words have rarely been spoken in our country’s short history…

In contrast… I’ve been lucky enough to bear witness to (and escape unscathed from) some of the many monumental structures mankind has erected…. only to later abandon to fade into ruins. Percy Bysshe Shelley illustrated this tragic futility in “Ozymandias” when he wrote: “Nothing beside remains. Round the decay of that colossal Wreck… boundless and bare… the lone and level sands stretch far away”.

It is my sincere pleasure to share these places with you. Thank you for your time!
