St. Mina and St. Abanoub Coptic Orthodox Church

Since their immigration to the United States and settlement in Southern Ohio, Coptic Orthodox families in Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus, were inspired to organize and establish a church. For over 20 years, they have invited Coptic priests from other cities to celebrate the Divine Liturgy to fulfill their spiritual needs. The Liturgy was conducted in rented space at local churches once a month.

Through the guidance of the reposed His Holiness Pope Shenouda III, and upon requests submitted to His Holiness during a visit to Cleveland, Ohio in September 1991, the parishioners were privileged to establish two churches: St. Mary Church in Columbus and St. Mina and St. Abanoub Church in Dayton. Our former building was acquired in April 1993. On August 21, 1999, His Holiness Pope Shenouda III visited our church for consecrating the Holy Altar and the Icons. Due to expanding congregation, new constructed commenced and the first liturgy in the new building was celebrated on July 10, 2010.
