Harmonium Choral Society

New videos posted every Monday!

Formed in Morristown in 1979, Harmonium is one of NJ’s leading choral arts organizations, recognized for musical excellence and innovative programming. Directed by Dr. Anne Matlack, the choir and 25-voice Chamber Singers are chosen by audition. We perform a broad choral repertoire with emphasis on contemporary works. Our choir is includes high school and college age singers, retirees, teachers, IT professionals, artists, lawyers, nurses, and more. Many lead choirs in schools or worship.

We present four concerts during the year and members sing at community events such as First Night in Morristown and retirement centers. Our annual NJ High School Student Choral Composition Contest won the Chorus America Education and Outreach Award (2009) (winners premiered in concert). We performed for the Eastern Division Convention of the American Choral Directors Association (2010), and Morris Arts presented us with the Outstanding Arts Organization Award (1998).
