Jesse Lee Young
Born and raised in the cultural stew of Southwest Louisiana, Jesse Young serenaded swooning lovebirds on New Orleans’ only Venetian gondola before Hurricane Katrina sent him running for high ground. Within his solo and duo performances, Jesse employs a looper, whereby he’s able to record his guitar on the fly, and adding specific layers to it, creating a sound bigger than the sum of its parts. Since 2005 Jesse’s singing and playing within jazz, swamp folk and blues interpretations have become a fixture of the Northwest music scene, having played the Waterfront Blues Festival, The Portland Jazz Festival, the Pendleton Round Up, as well as many local eateries and establishments, including a two year stint playing the Sunday brunch of the famed Acadia Bistro of Portland. Jesse currently plays the last Saturday of every month with his duo, (Monkey See Monkey Duo) at Nebbiolo Restaurant and Wine Bar.
