the RATLab
It’s not just about what we’re doing: it’s about what you want to do! The RATLab is a research collective at WPI focusing on the convergence of music and technology through two labs: the Electric Guitar Innovation Lab (EGIL) and the Interactive Music Systems Lab (IMSLab). Through these labs, our team of researchers, musicians, and students develop and implement new technologies and approaches to facilitate music composition, performance, and education with musicians and non-musicians. Specifically, this is accomplished by creating technology-based instruments, electronics, composition algorithms, interactive systems, research experiments, and proofs-of-concept.
