San Diego Horticultural Society

The San Diego Horticultural Society inspires and educates residents of San Diego County about growing and enjoying plants, and creating beautiful, environmentally responsible gardens and landscapes. A non-profit, member-supported organization, the San Diego Horticultural Society offers in-person and online meetings, workshops, garden tours, newsletters, and more.

San Diego County boasts 2,143 native plant species, more species of plants than any county in the contiguous United States. The geography of the county ranges from salt marshes, lagoons, coastal sage scrub, grasslands, chaparral, oak woodlands, stream sides, to mixed conifer forests, freshwater marshes and meadows, and desert makes gardening in the San Diego region fascinating and complex.
