The HAMMOND Guy
I play popular standards on either a B3 or an X66 Hammond organ. My approach is to create original arrangements, and also make full use of the instruments' bass pedals as that is one of the features of organs that set them apart from all other instruments. I also will frequently change key as this adds interest. I have added Trek II string bass to the pedals of the B3 which is set up so that it works in addition to, and not in place of the standard B3 pedal bass. My general playing approach is to think of the Hammond in terms of a theater pipe organ, rather than as a jazz instrument and to use the left hand for harmony, countermelody or occasionally the main melody and to play all bass functions on pedals.
