Dylan Russell

Dylan Russell (USA/UK) was born in Austria in 2012 and studies cello at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna (mdw) in the Course for Highly Gifted Children (Hochbegabtenkurs). He also receives a scholarship from the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein and participates in the intensive music weeks and activities offered by the Academy. Dylan has soloed with orchestras six times. Some of his accomplishments include:
-Prima la Musica Bundeswettbewerb (Austria national competition, 1st prize with full points/Bundessieger (national champion, 2024))
-Nouvelles Etoiles International Competition (1st prize plus special prize solo concert with orchestra in Paris, 2024)
-David Popper International Cello Competition (1st prize, 2023)
-Carl Flesch Academy (Henle Prize, 2023)
-Prima la Musica Austria (1st prizes with distinction, 2020-2023)
-Oberton International Soloist Competition (1st prize, 2022)
-Napolinova World Cello E-Competition (1st prize, 2022)
