Composers Now

Composers Now empowers all living composers, celebrates the diversity of their voices and honors the significance of their contributions to the cultural fabric of society. Composers Now was founded in 2010 by composer and pianist Tania León, who now serves as Artistic Director of the organization. The Composers Now Festival takes place every year during the month of February. It encompasses performances presented by music venues, ensembles, orchestras, opera companies, musical theater and dance companies as well as many other innovative events throughout New York City. All events are open to the public and feature living composers in attendance. From jazz to indie, classical to electronic and beyond, Composers Now offers the public a sonic journey through the landscape of the arts of our time.
