Giannis Aggelakas, is a singer, musician and poet. He was born in Thessaloniki in 1959 and he became famous as the singer of the rock band “Tripes”.

“Tripes” released 7 albums. Including songs like “Taxidiara Psihi” & “Giorti” which are still considered as some of the most successful greek rock songs of all time. In 1990 he took part in the album “Ante kai kali tihi manges”, paying tribute to P. Sidiropoulos. In 1993 G. Aggelakas and G.Karras released the album “Yperoho Tipota”.

Aggelakas’ solo career begins with his collaboration with the cellist N. Veliotis on the album “Oi anases ton lykon”. The album brings out the experimental approach Aggelakas was about to produce his music within the next years. His latest release in collaboration with Nikos Veliotis is named “Lykoi stin hora ton thavmaton” and was presented live, at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus.
