Why a fox?
Foxes are my favorite animal.
Why Finnegan Foxington?
"Finnegan" was an accidental misspelling of "Fennekin" from Pokeman, I actually thought that was its name my whole life. I actually like it better than "Fennekin" so I kept it. "Foxington" was just a last name I added because I wanted the character to have a last name.
Why Kitsune Finny?
Being half Japanese, I wanted it to be part of the character. "Kitsune" means "Fox" in Japanese. "Kitsune no Finnegan" (Finnegan the Fox) seemed a little too long of a name, so I shortened it to "Kitsune no Finny" (Finny the Fox), that was still a bit long, so I shortened it to "Kitsune Finny" (Finny Fox).
