Geoff Hodgson
Welcome to my new Channel. I'm Geoff Hodgson, a Chartered Surveyor with quite a few years working experiences on major civil engineering projects around the world. In recent years I've been a university lecturer teaching quantity surveying, civil engineering technology and BIM at all levels of university degrees. I've created this channel to give some knowledge back to the wider community especially apprentices in quantity surveying, construction management and students studying part-time for degrees in quantity surveying. Notwithstanding the digital world traditional methods of quantification are still very relevant. Many of the these practices and techniques underpin the algorithms that in turn help compile the coding for BIM technology. I will be covering the basics, using NRM2, CESMM4 and MMHW, which I hope will help induce a mind set of how quantification works within the wider construction workplace. Remember the basics don't change just because we've gone digital.
