David Hyde

This channel was set up to share my interest in model railways. I have been a keen model maker for much of my life and can even turn my hand to some scratch-building and 'low-tech' electronics. I began my railway in November 2012 as a newcomer to this fascinating hobby.
Deresley is a DCC layout and a fictitious town set in North Norfolk and my chosen era is the 1960s (all of it!).
In 2018, given the warnings about plastic, I decided to look for a modelling ideas away from plastic. The fairly recent range of Oxford Diecasts reminded me of toy cars in the 1950s, perhaps the heyday of diecast toys. My thought turned again to my childood and and my love of Dinky Toys - probably the most well known of them all.
I created this channel by way of thanks to all Youtubers out there for helping and inspiring me and my channel. I am now posting Dinky Toy restoration videos alongside my railway videos in the hope it might help and inspire others.
