Ansambl KOLO
The main mission of the National Ensemble "KOLO" is to collect, adapt and save from oblivion our folk dances and songs, our musical heritage. "KOLO" has a task to interpret, in an artistic way, dances and songs of our people and ethnic groups, as well as the complete national heritage and to promote them both at home and abroad.
This kind of art anticipates the supreme artistic and experts engagement in all components which are integral parts of the folk art, and each of them is a separate segment of art - dance, music, song, costume, national instruments, customs, scene etc. In the sense of art, all of them are equally represented in conceiving, preparing and performing the program, and make an integral work of art.
In its work, "KOLO" started from traditional dance, music and costumes found on the spot. When it was not possible, some written records were revived, but the style of dances and main correographic features were preserved.
