Thomas Hardy Victorian Fair
Welcome to the Thomas Hardy Victorian Fair YouTube Channel. This channel will show clips of Thomas Hardy poetry readings and passages from his novels, information and tours of the Dorset and Wessex countryside and places well known to the author and described in his works as well as clips from the Thomas Hardy Victorian Fair.
The Thomas Hardy Victorian Fair takes place on the first Sunday in June, closest to Thomas Hardy's birthday, which is on 2nd June. The fair is a family-friendly, full day festival and everyone is welcome, not just fans of the literary giant. Dress up in Victorian costume to celebrate Thomas Hardy's life, works, and the age in which he lived. The whole street is closed to traffic to make the most of the day and there are exhibitions, live music and Victorian craft demonstrations. Come along for a flavour of 19th Century Casterbridge in Thomas Hardy's Wessex.
